The vision of the marathon is to establish a sustainable community focused running event encouraging all athletes of all levels to lead a healthy lifestyle and further their personal fitness through running. Furthermore, the marathon wishes to position Botswana in general and Chobe District in particular as a tourist destination of choice for Botswana residents and international sports enthusiasts – both professional athletes and fun runners as well as to highlight and celebrate the iconic Kazungula Bridge as a magnificent superstructure and tourist attraction.!
